Travel for Impact takes its first steps
Community partners – Bana Ba Letsatsi, Women Against Rape, Polokong, Maun Animal Welfare Society. Consultancy with Southern African Regional Environmental Program (SAREP) started – the beginning of our evolvement in art and crafts within the tourism value chain. 1st volunteer arrived. 14 partners 1USD per BedNight. 1 Independent Social Responsibility Partner – Chobe Holdings.

2015

Travel for Impact grows
Development of Crafthood - the foundation of our on-going relationship with basket weavers, and the beginning of The People’s Path. Partnership with QPID began. 14 partners 1USD per BedNight. 1 Independent Social Responsibility Partner.

2016

Travel for Impact makes an impact in the community
Bednight Bank launched – 10 Partners. Community Bus started through partnership with Safari Destinations. 14 partners 1USD per BedNight.

2017

Impact Fund started
Allows Travel for Impact to manage funds and diversify its funding base. 16 partners 1USD per BedNight. 14 partners Bednight Bank. 1 Independent Social Responsibility Partner.

2018

Impact Fund grows
BBL Build becomes a flagship BedNight Bank project. Economic Empowerment Programme established through the BedNight Bank. 17 partners 1USD per BedNight. 17 partners Bednight Bank. 1 Independent Social Responsibility Partner.

2019

Impact Fund continues to grow
First Economic Empowerment Programme Catalogue developed. 18 partners 1USD per BedNight. 17 partners Bednight Bank. 1 Independent Social Responsibility Partner.

2020

Impact Fund Survives
Impact Fund full of optimism but covid stopped us in our tracks – re-evaluate where we are going and how we can continue our support. Diversify funding base to include Eat for Impact, Business for Impact and Invest for Impact (Work in Progress). Glass recycling funding received from the US Embassy Self-Help Fund.

2021

Transforms
Travel for Impact and Impact Fund celebrate one another and work to each other’s strengths. First major funding received: US Embassy Self-Help Fund, EU funding. Awarded a place in the Innovation Challenge, African Leadership University, to spearhead Economic Empowerment Programme. BedNight Bank on hold. The People’s Path expands.

2022

Supports, collaborates, and engages
Works with small businesses and organisations on the ground to enter tourism value chain effectively and competitively.

2023

Rebrands
Secured funding from UNESCO. Bednight Bank reinstated. Impact Fund develops cultural experiences and products, whilst TFI packages and sells them.
